This is a piece for twelve cassette tapes, each of which contains a unique rendition of the same composition. It is a reimagining of the change ringers’ rehearsal I heard at St. Stephen’s Church in Bristol, UK, in August of 2022. The twelve renditions are varied through a system of rhythmic transposition, much like the changes in campanological peal.
10 minutes per side:
A - lightness, dawn, joy, forgiveness
B - darkness, dusk, sorrow, determination
The audio was recorded directly onto the tapes in the collection via synthesizer. No digital audio file was created in the production process. No digital download is available for purchase. No download is included with purchase of a cassette
